Our shelter is working hard to keep everyone safe. We’ve increased cleaning efforts and are taking steps to ensure the safety of our staff and animals. All intake animals go through the CDC requirements for disinfecting and quarantine before the animal goes in with general population. All staff are encouraged to stay home when sick and to use PPE when working.

There are only two staff members working daily so please be patient if you are trying to call the shelter.

Donate Now

Due to the cancellation of major HSBC  fundraisers and community events, as well as some services, we are feeling a financial impact. We’re asking you, our supporters, to make a donation if you are able in order to allow HSBC to continue its life-saving work.

Volunteers

At this time, HSBC has limited volunteer activities to only two volunteers per day, over 18 years old and volunteers must call in advance to setup a time to volunteer.

There is no timeline on when regular volunteering will resume.

Resources

Plan ahead: Pet owners are encouraged to make plans for their pets in case someone in the home falls ill. People should stock up on two extra weeks of pet supplies and identify a pet sitter who can help out if the pet owner becomes hospitalized.

The World Health Organization (WHO) released a statement saying there is no evidence that dogs or cats can spread the virus that causes COVID-19.
